Luxe Valet Service San Francisco – My Review

My Luxe Valet Returning My Car

Recently I had the opportunity to try a new service in San Francisco called Luxe valet and thought I would write about my experience. One of the many things that tempted me to move from San Francisco to Marin County is the abundance of parking we have here. I have spent what seems like years of my life circling San Francisco blocks looking for an open parking space. Luxe valet service attempts to solve that problem. When I saw their slogan is “fall in love with parking” I knew I had to try it.

What is Luxe valet service? It’s a new San Francisco startup aimed at bringing the Uber ride-sharing type experience to parking. You download an app to your smartphone, input your credit card info, then enter the address where you want your valet to meet you before you leave. Luxe valet tracks you as your drive to your destination (in my case I was going to see Josh Flagg at the San Francisco Design Center) and as you approach the address the map (again, much like Uber) on your Luxe valet phone app shows you an icon where your valet is waiting to meet you and take your car. You can also call or text your valet if you’re having trouble finding him or her.

In my case, I was driving through slow traffic on Geary so I was worried I would be late for “my” valet. That was not a valid concern – the valet was tracking me the whole time and was ready when we finally did arrive. All the streets around the San Francisco Design center were packed with cars that were barely moving. As I entered the traffic jam, the Luxe valet found me, I got out of the car and he took it away — problem solved! For a moment I had this “What did I just do? I just gave my car to a total stranger?!?” feeling but seeing the dozens of cars circling looking for parking helped me decide to trust Luxe.

Luxe says they contract with “secured parking lots all over the city.” They also offer– via the Luxe app — car washes, oil changes and to fuel your vehicle. Later at the event, a woman walked up to me and said “You were the one with the valet service! We all waited in line for the parking lot and you just got out of your car!!” For a brief moment I felt like a parking rock star. Of course I told her all about Luxe valet.

The Map On the Luxe App Let Me Track My Valet To My Location

When I was ready to leave the event, I opened the app on my phone and tapped the “return my car” button on the Luxe valet app. About 15 minutes later a valet arrived with my car, pulled his scooter out of my trunk and zipped off. No money exchanged hands  — the parking bill that popped up on my iPhone gave me the option to tip both valets.

It was incredibly easy and the cost — $21 for about 4 hours of parking — was comparable to using the nearby parking lots. Luxe says on their website that they take average pricing for an area and always try to beat it. They also implement demand-based (higher) pricing during popular events or when there is a surge in people needing their service.

Overall, the Luxe valet was wonderful and I plan to use it again. Tip: to get $20 off your first Luxe valet parking use promo code ROBERT534. As always, I am here to help with your real estate questions — please call or text me at 415-847-5584, or complete the contact form below.
