Bouquets to Art at the de Young Museum in San Francisco

Photos of My Visit in 2015

Bouquets to Art 2015 de Young Museum

If you love flowers and flower arrangements, the Bouquets to Art at the de Young Museum, is an annual event you won’t want to miss. Now in its 34th year, the show is billed as a “floral takeover” by the de Young, and features florists from San Francisco to Tokyo pairing their arrangements to the art on display in the museum.

This is also one of the San Francisco society events of the year, and you will see some very familiar faces at the always-sold-out luncheons held each day during the exhibit. Tickets to the “Opening Night Gala” in 2018 range from $200 to $5000. Click here for more information on this year’s exhibit slated for March 13-18, 2018.

Because the exhibition is the most-attended event at the de Young each year, crowds are at “Disneyland” levels most of the time.  If you don’t like crowds, I would suggest booking one of the VIP events instead of general admission, which ranges from $13 to $28 per person, or free for members of the de Young museum.

I plan to attend Bouquets to Art this year and hope to post some photos on my Facebook page. In the meantime, below are some photos from the Bouquets to Art in 2015.

When this happens, it's usually because the owner only shared it with a small group of people, changed who can see it or it's been deleted.

From today's NY Times: "For a growing number of older Americans, signing up for a mortgage that is likely to outlive them makes good economic sense. A significant percentage of homeowners have fixed-rate mortgages with historically low rates. Roughly six of 10 mortgage borrowers in the third quarter of last year held loans with interest rates of less than 4 percent, according to the online real estate brokerage Redfin. Nearly a quarter had rates of less than 3 percent."
